From June 26 to 28, 2009, the "2009 International Conference on Bioeconomy" was held in Tianjin, which was co-organized by 14 departments including the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Agriculture, Tianjin Municipal People's Government, and 7 international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme, UNESCO, etc. The theme of the conference was "Developing Bioeconomy in Response to the Financial Crisis". The theme of the conference is "developing bio-economy and coping with financial crisis".
The purpose of the conference is to discuss the latest trends in the development of life sciences, biotechnology and its industry, build a platform for exchanges between countries and regions, promote cooperation among industries, universities and research institutes, promote the development of biotechnology and bio-industry, and promote the development of bio-economy.
