World Food Security and China’s Countermeasures Forum held in Beijing

The Forum was hosted jointly by Peking University’s China Center for Strategic Studies and Center for Resources, Environment and Food Security of China Agricultural University jointly with the Environment and Food Security of China Agricultural University, Moganshan Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology, the International Green Economy Association and China Society of Territorial Economists in Beijing Friendship Hotel on November 29th.

Convened by Professor Wang Hongguang, Executive Director of China Center for Strategic Studies and Center for Resources, Environment and Food Security, the forum responded to the aftermath of Covid-19 Pandemic and the “unprecedented changes unseen in a hundred years”. It reviewed issues faced in China’s agricultural policy, agrotechnological achievements, predicted post-pandemic world pattern change explored strategies and countermeasures for food security.

At the forum, collaborative efforts was called on to promote the second green revolution and land reclamation, develop marine food and wood grain, drive food production and circulation mechanism, establish overseas supply chain, conserve food during storage, processing and consumption and build a global food community with shared future.
